Abstract

Ever since Henry Fayol proposed the administrative process, different theoretical proposals have appeared exceeds what must include the work of a manager. From the comparative evaluation of some of these proposals, the functions of the manager and the abilities of the leader can be identified that appear with more frequency. In an initial analysis are the models focused in the functions of the administrator or manager; from this perspective the main functions are: the interpersonal roll of the manager, its roll like spokesman, taker of decisions and planner. Later, the models based on the abilities of the leader are taken into account; from they are possible here to be identified: the interpersonal ability, the handling of the change, the ability to motivate and of handling of equipment.
