Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the driver of productivity and sustainable economic competitiveness of medium-sized Colombian companies categorized as the best for the year 2023. Methodologically, the investigative approach is qualitative, of a basic type with a descriptive level, supported by documentary sources that They support the literary review and comparison with reports issued by targeted companies. It was found that, although the trends in the structure of sustainability reports promote economic, sustainable, and social development, the realities show that organizations do not specify information that integrates the economic and environmental in these reports, generating doubts about the credibility and trust in the information reported. It is concluded that it is not enough to know the formal aspects (methods, processes, and activities) to construct these reports, but rather to pay attention to the substance of the reports that will guarantee reliable information reported with credibility criteria.
