DOCTORATES IN COLOMBIA: A HARD ROAD AHEAD

Abstract

The development of tertiary education in Colombia is undergoing a crisis not only of a temporary nature, due to the phenomenon of the pandemic that we have been experiencing since 2020, but also of a structural nature that has been taking shape since the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st, which must be adequately resolved if we are to emerge strengthened by assimilating the transformations. For this reason, we propose to introduce in this editorial the problem and some outlines of solution, which must be assumed from the academy and especially from the integrated research to the teaching and social projection, in the highest doctoral level that deserves to question if it is fulfilling that important transforming mission of the social, the political, the cultural and the educational.
