Abstract

The present article has the objective of giving nursing students the necessary and sufficient semiologic concepts so they can orient families of children with cerebral palsy as well as personnel from level I and II hospitals through Care and Handling Programs. Therefore, the following theoretical references will be used: Nursing Management of Individuals with Disability (Audrey Schmerzler, Jane Walsh, Marie Dunn Catalane, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 1st edition 1999, Clinical Practice of Neurological and Neurosurgical Nursing, chapter 8, Joanne V.Hickey, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins 3rd edition, July 1992, and as a practical reference, more than 25 years of experience in the clinical management of this type of patients.
