Strengthening the listening of high school students as an essential skill in communication in the English language, dynamization and mediations with Blended Learning

This article presents the results of a pedagogical research carried out with the purpose of strengthening listening skills in English in high school students in an educational institution in Cartagena de IndiasColombia, through the implementation of a virtual learning environment (VLE) from the blended learning tool. To fulfill the purposes of the research, a qualitative methodological route was designed, from the Pedagogical Action Research model. A group of ninth grade students participated in the work, who had an active role in the proposed reflections and constructions. The methodological route was proposed in four phases: diagnosis of the students’ entry skills, design of the pedagogical proposal, implementation and final evaluation of the implementation of the proposal. The results show a remarkable improvement in listening skills, vocabulary strengthening, autonomy development, commitment and motivation of the students.
