Absence of relationship between perception of the risk of accidents and accidents at work

Objective: To relate the accident rate with the perception of the risk of accident.
Methodology: This relationship was evaluated in 46 workers from the high-risk areas of occupational accident in a company in the industrial sector.
Result: Most of the workers (89.1%) presented a medium or high perception of having an accident risk.
Conclusion: No relationship was found between the perception of risk and the history of occupational accident in the studied group.
