Abstract

Labor outsourcing is a phenomenon that is increasingly welcomed by companies in Colombia, whatever their legal constitution. This research project investigates the process of labor outsourcing in a public university in the municipality of Palmira in Valle del Cauca, in order to identify the reasons why universities choose this contracting model for their administrative operations and identify perceptions and expectations of workers who are hired under this modality. In the first instance, an analysis of labor legislation is carried out to understand the phenomenon; subsequently, an interview is applied to the Institution's Human Management professional to understand the reasons that motivate the institution to apply this type of hiring and finally, a Group approach is applied with the workers who are hired under this modality to identify their perceptions regarding this contracting modality. The conclusions reached by this confirmed investigation, although labor outsourcing in Colombia is legal and has the regulations to carry it out, emotional impacts on workers can generate demotivation and significantly affect the working environment of the organizations.
