Abstract

This paper addresses the theatrical practice of the Identidad Campesina group from the municipality of La Vega (Cauca) as an aesthetic pedagogical experience and as an expression of a historical narrative of the peasantry and rural communities of Colombia, especially those found in the Colombian Massif. By the participatory action research (PAR) methodology and popular education, this paper attempts to make visible and grant recognition to the thinking of peasants. Therefore, their contributions and vision are presented verbatim. This work begins with a brief contextualization of the situation of the Colombian peasantry and sets us in the Colombian Massif and La Vega municipality. After, it introduces us to the Peasant and Popular Process of La Vega (PCPV) and presents the proposal of the theater group Identidad Campesina as a pedagogical practice. To finish, from the contribution of some of the plays, an analysis of the historical narrative is carried out. As a result of the reflection and as part of the conclusions reached is that the theatrical aesthetic experience becomes a permanent pedagogical act from the sensitivity awakened by the Identidad Campesina group.
