Implementación de un programa para la prevención y control de las IAAS

Las Infecciones Asociadas a la Atención de la Salud (IAAS), son consideradas un problema de salud pública, incluyen aquellas afecciones que el paciente no estaba incubando previo al ingreso al hospitalario y que adquiere derivado de la atención clínica, pueden extenderse incluso después del egreso del paciente. En el contexto de la pandemia por COVID-19, se vio un aumento de estas a nivel mundial por la demanda de atención sanitaria de pacientes en estado crítico.
Las IAAS, son eventos adversos en la atención clínica que pueden evolucionar hasta un evento centinela que resulta en la discapacidad o la muerte para el paciente; aunado a esto traen implicaciones económicas para el paciente, familia y el sector salud.
Es necesaria la implementación de medidas para la prevención y control de estas infecciones que permitan la reducción de costos y lo más importante, al ser una complicación prevenible "nadie debería de morir por una IAAS"
