Características de los directivos de las empresas Born Global en Colombia

Resumen

El propósito de este artículo es analizar las características de los directivos de las empresas Born Global en Colombia que influyen en el proceso de internacionalización. Según la revisión literaria, las habilidades y capacidades que predominan en los directivos para lograr entrar a los mercados internacionales, son entre otras, la experiencia previa del emprendedor, la formación académica, y la actitud frente al riesgo. Con el objetivo de diferenciar los perfiles directivos de las empresas Born Global que son determinantes del proceso de internacionalización y del éxito exportador, se ha planteado un análisis de conglomerados bietápico, partiendo de las variables mencionadas, método que proporciona evidencia de la existencia de tres tipos de perfiles directivos: directivo innato, directivo con conocimientos y directivo con experiencia, correspondientes a las empresas Born Global exitosas, en crecimiento y poco exitosas, respectivamente. Se encuentra que este estudio ofrece una caracterización del empresario promotor de la internacionalización temprana, lo que permite la generación de políticas de internacionalización por parte del Gobierno nacional y la explotación de estos rasgos por parte de empresarios y profesionales
