The Covid-19 pandemic has injured various economic sectors at the national and local level, among which one of the most affected is the tourism sector. In this sense, the objective of this document is to investigate the expectations of economic reactivation that suppliers have in the city of Popayan (Colombia). To achieve this, an ordered logit model is implemented which is encouraged with information from the National Association of Financial Institutions (ANIF) and shared by the Cauca Chamber of Commerce (CCC), for 120 firms in the first semester of 2020. The main results show that modern and small establishments, which are run by young women and have taken concrete actions to face Covid-19, are the ones that expect a promising future in the midst of the health emergency. On the contrary, those older, medium-sized businesses, which are run by long-lived men with low levels of education, are those that expect an equal or negative future in the pandemic.
