Intra-occupational psychosocial risk factors and degree of stress in university teachers

Objective: To identify the intralaboral psychosocial risk factors and the degree of stress in teachers of a faculty of economic, administrative and accounting sciences.
Methodology: Descriptive, cross-sectional study, carried out on 42 teachers in a faculty of administrative, economic and accounting sciences at a private university in the city of Cali, Colombia. The intralaboral psychosocial risk factor evaluation questionnaires (form A), the stress questionnaire and the sociodemographic and occupational record of the Battery of Instruments for the Evaluation of Psychosocial Risk Factors endorsed by the Ministry of Social Protection of Colombia were applied .
Results: The presence of intra-occupational psychosocial risk factors was identified in 26.2% of the teachers surveyed. The domains: leadership / social relations and rewards were the ones with the highest risk perception by 42.9% and 45.2% respectively. Regarding stress, it was found that 33% reported risk levels between medium, high and very high.
Conclusions: The group of university teachers presents important psychosocial risk factors. This, added to the identified stress levels, makes them a vulnerable population that must be intervened.
