Abstract

Port communities emerge as an alternative to boost the competitiveness of the productive sector of our country. For this reason, this article intends to contextualize about these consensus scenarios that allow working together among the actors involved and solving higher order problems in relation to their port logistics chains. In this sense, there will be cases of existence, where the implementation of these communities allows progress in the competitiveness agenda. In the context of national through a characterization of the needs and profiles of exporters and importers in relation to the services necessary to create the infrastructure necessary to implement a port community, the different characteristics of foreign trade operations of Barranquilla through a multivariable statistical analysis, where thirteen main variables of chain management and port services were evaluated, taking into account the recommendations of the International Association of Community Port Systems of EPCSA (2015) to establish port communities in Colombia, which They will allow flexibility and speed up processes that seek to improve the operational efficiency of logistics services in the country.
