Abstract

Monkeypox is a zoonosis of viral etiology caused by monkeypox virus or Monkeypox virus (MPXV). MPXV is a double-stranded DNA virus of the Poxviridae family, to which the Variola virus belongs, the etiological agent of smallpox, a disease proclaimed eradicated in 1980
