Abstract

Objective: to carry out state of the art on the labor reimbursement in workers of Latino-America between the years 1998 and 2019.

Materials and methods: a narrative review was carried out with 27 studies published in PubMed, EBSCO, SCIELO Scientifics Library and CENTRAL of the Cochrane Library. The labor reimbursement was the search criterion, it was associated with labor absenteeism and legislation in different countries. The investigation is considered without risk according to Resolution 8430/1993.

Results: systematic reviews (28.6%) and narratives (25.0%) stood out. Among the 3 punctual aspects for the search, the documents on the worker's reimbursement process and the illnesses / situations that trigger the absence from work prevailed. In Latin America, the studies developed in Colombia prevail (n = 10, 35.7%).

Conclusions: Illnesses, accidents and working conditions are related to the type of work performed by workers. In Latin America and specifically Colombia, there is a noticeable interest in the development and implementation of protocols for the worker's reinstatement. The lack of research in more countries of the region and deepening the costs that this situation entails for companies is notorious.
