Design of the planning phase of an occupational health and safety management system

Abstract

The diverse changes that appear daily in the organizations in front of the scenarios of work and the form of production, help to understand the need to discuss about better conditions in the security and health in the work. Historically, strategies have been developed that provide well-being to workers in companies, a situation that is not alien to Colombian labor reality. Objective: to design the planning phase of an occupational health and safety management system according to the current national regulations of Colombia in a medium-sized company in the city of Cali. Methods: Study of descriptive type documentary applied. Results: the place of study at the beginning of the design of the planning phase was in the process of executing the change from the Occupational Health program to the occupational health and safety management system; An evaluation was developed that allowed to recognize the initial and final state after executing the strategies to plan and generate compliance with the minimum standards of the legal regulations in force in Colombia. Conclusion: To conclude through the initial assessment in occupational safety and health according to the normative parameters it was possible to verify that the factory did not comply with the minimum standards in occupational safety and health, giving a low percentage and a critical state. This measurement allowed to identify the real conditions which led to the construction of a manual and necessary procedures in the proposed design
