Abstract

Every day more women become Family Heads in Latin America, where they take charge of the psychological, economic and social maintenance of the family. Women are socialized to exercise the role of mother, wife, home manager, among other functions within the traditional family. When incorporated into the workplace, it becomes one more function of your daily routine. In the case of garment maquila workers, who carry out their work at home, they are subjected to double working hours, where they perceive themselves as people whose health has been affected and at the same time they suffer domestic violence. Labor hiring policies generate new scenarios and needs (flexibility, hourly hiring, rotations, reduced union rights, temporary employment, among others). Huerta (2009), points out: "Automation and robotization of production processes have ensured that a growing mass of wealth is obtained with a decreasing amount of work." 1 In this way, traditional labor contracts are ended, thus as to collective contracts.
