In the current business environment, characterized by global competition and rapid technological evolution, project management has emerged as a key element to boost competitiveness and encourage innovation in organizations. This research has focused on exploring in depth the intersection between project management, business competitiveness and innovation, with the aim of understanding how these areas influence each other and contribute to the success of companies in a constantly changing world. The documentary review carried out revealed a series of significant findings. First, the importance of resource optimization and cost reduction through project management was highlighted. Efficient resource allocation and strategic planning enable organizations to deliver competitive products and services, which is essential to maintaining a strong market position. In addition, it was highlighted how risk management in projects not only prevents financial losses, but also preserves the company’s reputation, which is crucial to maintaining customer trust. Innovation and differentiation emerged as essential components of business competitiveness. The project management methodology provides a controlled environment for the generation and application of new ideas, which leads to the development of innovative products and services that stand out in the market. Agility and adaptation to change, enabled by project management, allow organizations to respond quickly to changing demands and capitalize on new emerging opportunities. In addition, the research demonstrated how project management contributes to organizational learning and continuous improvement. Each project, regardless of its outcome, provides valuable lessons that can be applied to future initiatives, fostering a culture of constant learning and evolution.
