Occupational challenges in people who work and study simultaneously

Background: Currently, the socio-economic dynamics of the work market and the specialization of knowledge promote workers to pursue continuing and postgraduate education to update their knowledge, improve their income, increase possibilities of participation in the field of work and generate greater labor competitiveness; which generates assuming a double role: worker and student.
Objective: Identify advances in research on occupational adaptation in people who work and study simultaneously from the perspective of Occupational Therapy.
Methods: a search and retrieval of articles was carried out in the databases: ERIC, Scopus, PubMed and Elsevier, taking occupational therapy, occupational adaptation, work and study as keywords.
Results: The generated search equation did not return results in any database. The search was adjusted considering the categories in the study: occupational therapy in education; adult education, occupational adaptation; Postgraduate education. Including 30 articules for analysis.
Conclusions: Working and studying simultaneously and from the perspective of Occupational Therapy is identified as a process of occupational adaptation that is generally accompanied by occupational challenges in which the balance between personal life, work and study is framed
