The role of the Constitution in the independence of nations

Starting from two typologies of constitutions exhibited by recognized Constitutional Law writers, from an abstract perspective and starting from the written Constitution, with historical references regarding the construction of the liberal State, the role of constitutions in the independence of nations is outlined in an analytical way. And, with brief reviews regarding what happened in the process of independence of the United States of America and ours, given the conjuncture of the bicentennial of the real or material independence that we are commemorating, it is concluded that, despite the vicissitudes present at the dawn of nations, the written Constitution became an important reference avoiding the idea of a despotic government and, as a consequence, nourishing the possible praxis of democracy, even though its materialization has been gradual.
