Abstract

The carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is one of the diseases that have been related to work activity with the most common frequency in different contexts. The CTS has been identifying as cause of disability, this syndrome could generate some trouble in a process of re-adapting to work. This sensation of disability could be influenced by the psychologist of the worker also if the claim is in a system of compensation to worker. Aim:

Objective: Propose an evaluation from a broad perspective of a worker with CTS.

Methodology: Thoroughgoing a qualitative approach from a critical point of view it will discuss even if the tools to measurement the quality of life related with Health (HRQL) are useful to know the perception of the worker about his or her health status in particularly his or her ability to do daily activities including work; in spite these instruments are an important key to make follow up to evolution of the health status of the worker who, suffers this kind of disease, and even

Results: The dimension about the daily activities it will be better to assess the working capability in an ill employee through tools to know the Working Quality of Life (WQL) to assessment with more accuracy the skill to work in specific job environment.

Conclusion: It was suggesting that it should be joint view to the instrument to measure the HRQL and the WQL with the purpose to appraise in holistic way the worker who suffers a disease in particularly an occupational disease as could be the CTS in order to achieve an effective return to work.
