Diagnosis for the continuous improvement of the production system: redesign and adaptation for MSME’S.

The aim of this research was to redesign and adapt a diagnostic tool for the production system for use in micro, small and medium enterprises -MSME’s- manufacturers. The theoretical basis was the research of Rajadell Carreras, published on 2005, from which a questionnaire was developed that allows a preliminary assessment of the status of a MSME in face of a continuous improvement process. MSMEs seek improvement to compete and survive in actual markets. The theoretical framework and research methodology are the introduction for understand the redesigned tool. The main purpose of this document is explaining the diagnostic survey and how it works. The survey has fifty questions related nine key fields to evaluate the production system in a MSME and to identify the status on each of them. The initial status will be the starting point to the continuous improvement process.
