Researcher-Entrepreneur: Crossing Borders

This article was accompanied by a comparative study of the state of the art of the profiles of researchers nationally and internationally, to determine the influence of the environment on behavior, taking into account that there is more support for this type of activity in cities that are jalonadoras of the economy in each their countries. Among the findings it was observed that the characteristics that are a common denominator in the profile are: leadership, communication skills, proper management of technology transfer, inter-and intrapersonal relationships, proper handling of information, proper management of time, teamwork, identification and use of networks and contacts. The above characteristics are not a straightjacket for the researcher-entrepreneur, who over time can irlas developing or creating partnerships with individuals or institutions that help strengthen their capabilities. It also identified the need to establish institutions to promote the conditions necessary for proper development and allow researcher-entrepreneur, accompanied from the motivation to consulting in business management, so they decide to take the transition phase, establishing policies clear which encourage and support this kind of activities, leading real processes, grounded and supported by case studies of similar contexts. In conclusion we can say that, to transcend the frontiers of entrepreneurship research, it requires a strong motivation of the researcher, a clear process of technology management, backup and clear institutional parameters, with the conviction that the process is achievable
