Strategic Approaches for Urban Logistics: Perspective Regarding State-University-Industry Relationship

This article aims to present the results reached at the forum “Impact of research in urban logistics: perspective regarding State-university-Industry relationship”. This activity was held in the premises of the Universidad Libre Sectional Barranquilla during the second semester of 2013. The event allowed to discuss first-hand knowledge of experts of international stature, in conjunction with Engineering programs, where current issues of great importance were discussed, on the ongoing development and evolution of logistics, the problems of supply chain, government policies, infrastructure, mobility, strategies and technologies for urban logistics. Results of activities suggest the main and most used strategies that have been effective in recent years, and some of them that could be in the future such as crossdocking, timing, establishment of distribution centers, ICT, vehicle routing, among others.
