PEER REVIEW

ENTRAMADO Editorial Committee will study each article according to the criteria of relevance, coherence, and contributions to knowledge and will decide on the suitability of its publication.

The Editor focuses special interest on the following aspects:

  • That the article be unpublished, that is, that it has not been previously published - totally or partially - in another journal - physical or electronic -. It must be the product of completed research. At the time of submission, a declaration is requested from the authors where they guarantee that the manuscript is not in the process of evaluation by another academic journal and will not be submitted until obtaining the final concept of the Editorial Committee of ENTRAMADO, and likewise, the journal verifies this condition during various parts of the process, even after accepting its publication but before its publication.
  • Originality/innovation of the article.
  • Clarity of the text.
  • Usefulness/interest for the readers.
  • Scientific rigor
  • Informed conclusions.
  • Potential impact factor of the article, especially for research articles.
  • Stages of the opinion

The manuscript will be reviewed in the first instance by the Co-Editor to ensure that it meets the requirements set out in the Standards for Authors; if it does not meet these standards, it will be returned to the author(s), within a period not exceeding 15 days, for adjustment. A test of the text is also carried out on the Turnitin tool to control referencing and prevent cases of plagiarism and/ or self-plagiarism.

Plagiarism control will be carried out before and after peer review. If a similarity report of more than 10% is obtained in a paper, the authors will be informed by e-mail where the complete similarity report will be included.

Adjusted articles will be submitted to an internal evaluation by the Editorial Committee, which will decide which articles will be sent in the assessment by two academic peers external to the editing institution, experts in areas related to the Journal, and who have, at least, a Ph.D. degree. The process will be double-blind, which means that the author does not know who is evaluating him/her. The referee does not know who he/she is considering and will be supported by the evaluation guide format for articles handled by ENTRAMADO Magazine, which the peers will download once they have accepted the evaluation of the article with the key assigned when they registered as referees. The evaluation guide document must include the evaluator's justified recommendation about the publication of the article. The peers will have a time of 20 calendar days to issue a concept on the article that was assigned to them.

If an article presents a favorable and an unfavorable concept, it will be sent to a third evaluator whose opinion will be final, the Editorial Committee is in charge of settling any controversy that may arise concerning the evaluations, and it is the instance that decides which articles will be published. The decisions of the Editorial Committee are final. The author agrees to make the formal adjustments suggested by the Evaluation Committee and the journal's editorial team. Authors will have between 15 and 30 calendar days to make the adjustments; this period will be indicated in the evaluation report. It is suggested that the author consult if an extension is possible. It is important to keep in mind that the issues of the journals have precise publication dates.

Once the articles have been accepted and the adjustments and clarifications made by the authors, they will go on to spelling and typographical correction, in which process the style of each author will be respected. The time assigned for the layout is 20 calendar days. Once the layout is done, direct communication is established with the authors, so as not to alter the original contents. The maximum period for them to approve the changes and resolve doubts is 5 days. If the author does not resolve the doubts or corrections within the stipulated period, his article will be published in another edition, until the doubts or suggestions have been fully resolved.

In the evaluation, ENTRAMADO and its evaluators adhere to international ethical standards for scientific research, adopted at the 2nd World Conference on Research Integrity-Singapore, July 22-24, 2010. (2nd World Conference on Research Integrity-Singapore).

Time for the review process

The time to obtain a response depends on the availability of the Evaluation Committee (Editorial Committee, Scientific Committee, and External Peer Reviewers), and the promptness of the recommendations made to the authors; approximately four (4) to seven (7) months after the article has been submitted to the journal. During this time, authors are asked to refrain from submitting their articles to other TC+I journals.  If an article is objected to or rejected by its peers, the journal will inform the author of the results of the evaluation.
