Resumen

El scanning del entorno constituye una actividad de alta relevancia para la vida de las organizaciones. De manera particular, el scanning del componente tecnológico tiene una relación estadísticamente significativa con desempeños superiores en las organizaciones. El objetivo del artículo fue identificar un conjunto de actividades de scanning del componente tecnológico y su relación con una variable organizacional y una variable gerencial, para lo cual se encuestó a un grupo de directivos de primer y segundo nivel, en veinte empresas localizadas en Bogotá (Colombia). En el estudio se concluye que la variable organizacional tiene una relación estadísticamente significativa con el desarrollo de actividades de scanning; en contraste, no se evidenciaron relaciones estadísticamente significativas entre el desarrollo de actividades de scanning y la variable gerencial.
