Abstract

Ethics is an issue that has been a concern of mankind throughout its history. Applying the subject to the company, it is a question of intellectual reflection of mankind in the last half century, such as it is formulated by the rise of corporate social responsibility; that is to say, the subject that was previously oriented only to the values of the individuals blessed with reason, is now predicable of fictitious persons to whom the law endowed them with exceptional conditions that make them capable of acquiring rights and assuming obligations. Codes of conduct, codes of labour conduct, codes of business ethics, codes of good governance, and business guidelines are a tangible example of the new business condition.

Sustainable development (growth) has emerged as a social aspiration and longing since the 1980s, an issue that must be added to new organizational objectives and strategies, a situation that will enable it to integrate the environmental, social and economic dimensions in order to formulate a comprehensive responsibility for sustainability.
