Introduction: The widespread expansion of institutionalized participatory processes in local democracies around the world has been accompanied by numerous studies seeking to analyze their effects once implemented. Among these, one line of evaluation proposes investigating their impact on public decision-making.
Objective: to propose an analysis of the performance of Institutionalized Participatory Processes.
Method: The methodology for carrying out the proposed analysis follows the guidelines for constructing typologies in accordance with the procedure for developing a theoretical or reference framework.
Results: The concept and method of evaluating the performance of Institutionalized Participatory Processes is proposed based on the benefits sought and obtained from public policies, considering both changes in design and in their relational policy processes. The proposal includes a typology of policy benefits and highlights the importance of analyzing both the quantitative and qualitative results of Institutionalized Participatory Processes.
Conclusion: It is concluded that there is a need to pay attention to the formulation of proposals and public decisions made to measure the effectiveness of Institutionalized Participatory Processes, in which, ultimately, the efforts of the State and society are committed.
