Integración de Web GIS y simulación basada en agentes para el análisis del sistema de autobuses universitarios

Los sistemas de buses en instituciones de educación superior suelen presentar desajustes entre la oferta y los picos de demanda académica, afectando su eficiencia y confiabilidad. Esta brecha genera tiempos de espera prolongados, hacinamiento en paraderos o vehículos y una limitada información operativa. Junto con la congestión del tráfico urbano, estos factores impactan negativamente la calidad de vida de la comunidad académica, la puntualidad en las clases y, por ende, el desempeño académico, configurando el transporte como una barrera para el acceso efectivo a una educación de calidad. Este trabajo presenta el desarrollo e integración de un Web GIS, una aplicación móvil colaborativa y un modelo de simulación basado en agentes para la recolección, registro y análisis de información georreferenciada del sistema de buses universitarios. Los resultados de la simulación revelan que, si bien el sistema alcanza una cobertura aproximada del 80% de la demanda, existen desbalances estructurales entre rutas saturadas y subutilizadas. Estos hallazgos sugieren que la plataforma integrada puede respaldar la toma de decisiones basada en evidencia para la planificación del transporte universitario y servir como base para futuros estudios destinados a evaluar estrategias de optimización y ajustes operativos en tiempo real.
