GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
The Criterio Libre Magazine is a biannual publication of the Research Center of the Faculty of Economic, Administrative and Accounting Sciences of the Universidad Libre, which aims to disseminate the academic and research production of the Faculty's teachers, as well as the other members. of the academic community. Consequently, the magazine is positioned as an element that strongly encourages the dissemination of knowledge topics in the economic, social, administrative and accounting areas, or similar current national or international topics, that present the results of research, the development of the creativity and intellectual production of teachers; The content of the Journal is aimed at specialists, researchers and postgraduate students.
In this dissemination medium, articles that meet any of the following academic characteristics can be published:
- Research articles: this type of article presents in detail the original results of research projects; its structure includes introduction, methodology, results and conclusions.
- Reflection articles: this type of article presents research results from an analytical, interpretative or critical perspective of the author(s), on a specific topic, using original sources.
- Review articles: this type of article should be the result of a research where the results of published or unpublished research on a field of science and technology are analyzed, systematized and integrated, in order to report the progress and development trends; it should present a careful bibliographic review of at least 50 references.
In order to homogenize the presentation of the different articles, the editorial committee considers it pertinent to recommend that the person or persons interested in submitting an article for publication in the journal adhere to the following conditions:

- The document must comply with the following characteristics:
- Be written in Arial – Times News Roman font, 12 point font size
- 0 line spacing, no space between paragraphs
- Be aligned to the left side, without justifying.
- Indent 5 spaces on the first line of each paragraph. (½ inch: 1.27 cm)
- In no case should it exceed 35 pages.
- Page numbering in the upper right corner.
- All articles must include the following information: title of the paper, name of the author(s), abstract (Spanish and English), key words (maximum four) (Spanish and English), JEL classification, content and development of the article.
- The content added to the article after the JEL classification should not contain the subtitles, only the main titles including introduction, conclusions and bibliography.
- In the title of the article a footnote should be inserted in asterisk indicating or explaining the origin of the article (reasons or motives and type of article: reflection, debate, bibliographic review or research).
- For each author a footnote containing the following information should be added with an asterisk:
- Undergraduate title(s) and institution, city and country.
- Postgraduate degree(s) and institution, city and country.
- Position and institution, city and country.
- Participation in research groups.
- Mailing address and telephone number.
- Institutional e-mail.
- ORCID code
- The abstract of the article should not exceed 500 words.
- The criterion for choosing the keywords is that they guarantee the visibility of the article in search engines and databases. These words are used by libraries and thematic indexes of journals to classify the articles, thus guaranteeing that when someone searches by subject they can access the article.
- The keywords should be classified according to the codes found in the Journal of Economic Literature Classification System, known as the "JEL Codes", for which you can access the following electronic address: http://www.aeaweb.org/journal/jel_class_system.html.
- Footnotes should be in Times New Roman font, size 10, single spaced, justified and indented, so that the text is aligned to the right side of the number and not below the number. In addition, when more than two footnotes appear on a page, they must be separated by a space.
- Footnotes should be used to make definitions, clarify concepts or refer the reader to other works or authors that deal in greater depth with topics that for some reason cannot be developed in the text, but that the author considers may be of interest to the reader. Footnotes should not be used to cite works used as support material in the preparation of the article.
- The responsibility for statistical information contained in tables and graphs is that of the author. These tables and graphs should be numbered and referenced in their entirety in the text; in addition, the sources of information should be cited at the bottom of the tables and graphs; in the case of tables and graphs prepared by the authors, the source should read: Own elaboration. The titles of tables, graphs or diagrams should be in small letters and not centered.
- Direct quotations are those in which the concepts or opinions of an author are taken up in textual form, while indirect quotations are those in which the ideas of an author are mentioned in the words of the author. To introduce either of these two types of quotations, the author must be paraphrased, for example: "Vélez (2005, p. 18) argues...".
- Any of these two types of quotations made in the document and footnotes should use the following form: AUTHOR'S FIRST SURNAME (YEAR, PAGE). For which it is recommended to take into account the following:
- Use only the author's first surname. To indicate the page use the letter p.
- When more than three authors appear in the same work, use and others, for example: Vélez and others (2002, 18).
- The year and page, which appear in parentheses, should be separated with a comma as follows: Vélez (2001, 107).
- The page number should be placed when the citations are direct; in the case of indirect citations it is not always necessary.
- When direct quotations have a length of less than five lines of text (a short quotation), the following recommendations should be taken into account:
- The quotation is placed in the same paragraph.
- The quotation should be enclosed in quotation marks and in print.
- With a spacing of 5 spaces.
- Arial font size 12.
- When direct quotations are longer than five lines (long quotations), the following recommendations should be taken into account:
- They should be placed in a separate paragraph.
- The paragraph(s) should be centered on both sides of the page, that is, a larger margin should be used on both sides of the page.
- The spacing (spaces between lines) should be simple.
- The font size should be 10.
- The quotation is made without quotation marks.
- Bibliographical references at the end of the text should be presented according to the following format:
- Journals: author's surname in capital letters, first names, (year), title of the article, name of the journal, volume and number (use abbreviation), period, pagination of the complete article.
- Books: author's last name in capital letters, first name, (year), title of the article, city of edition, publisher and number of pages of the book.
- Internet: last names in capital letters, first names, (year), title of the article or document, name of the institution or electronic journal, place of publication, publisher, date of publication, electronic address where it can be consulted, access route -when necessary-, date of access or consultation.
- The journal's management will acknowledge receipt of the papers within 10 working days.
ARTICLE SELECTION PROCEDURE
- The magazine's management will acknowledge receipt of the works within a period of no more than 10 business days.
- The process followed to select articles is as follows:
- The editor will review compliance with the requirements described above. If these requirements are not met, the article is returned to the author to make the respective corrections.
- Once the article meets the required requirements, it is sent to the Editorial Committee for the appointment of a specialist, anonymous, double-blind academic peer reviewer.
- The peer reviewer will be in charge of guaranteeing the thematic quality and will issue their opinion, anonymously, on the possibility of publication of the article.
- Simultaneously, the editor carries out an evaluation of the editorial quality of the article.
- The editor will be in charge of presenting his and the evaluator's concepts to the Editorial Committee, with which the Committee defines whether the article is published.
- The article is returned to the author so that the modifications or adjustments suggested by the evaluator and the editor can be made, or if the article is definitively rejected.
- All articles sent to the journal will be evaluated by academic juries, specialists or anonymous referees who are experts in the subject, and the decision to publish them will be subject to the results of the anonymous evaluations. The Editorial Committee will inform the authors in a timely manner of the results of the evaluation.
- Those who publish in the Criterio Libre Magazine of the Free University, transfer their property rights to the Institution; Consequently, they authorize the Free University to disseminate the articles of their authorship through any printed or electronic media, including the Internet, that it considers relevant.
- Criterio Libre Magazine follows the citation and style standards of the American Psychological Association (APA), seventh edition, for the presentation of the articles it publishes.
- In addition, they must accompany the article with written proof signed by the authors that it is unpublished, is their authorship and has not been proposed for publication in any other media
