The role of interest and passions in Hegel’s great-man theory

This article presents the result of an analytical reflection on the role of interest and passion in Hegel’s theory of history. It also provides a brief outline of one of the most important aspects of the age of enlightenment - the idea of progress and telos. It is then when Hegel becomes an heir to this illustrious tradition at a young age, conveying his optimism toward progress of humanity from his earliest works.
