Revista Avances: Investigación en Ingeniería is a technical organ from the Faculty of Engineering of Universidad Libre. The purpose of the publication of this magazine is to present the research findings in various fields of Engineering, Basic Sciences, and Applied Statistics. It is addressed to both national and international scientific and academic communities. Currently, the journal is cataloged in the National Bibliographic Index - Publindex – from Colciencias under category C. ISSN: 1794-4953 - e-ISSN: 2619-6581, indexed in EBSCO, Latindex, and Dialnet.
The magazine publishes unprecedented and original articles in their native language, framed within the disseminating modalities:
1. Scientific and Technological Research Article: Document that presents in a detailed manner, the original results of completed research projects. The structure that is generally used contains four important sections: Introduction, Methodology, Results, and Conclusions.
2. Review Article: Document resulting from a completed research where the results of published or unpublished research are analyzed, systematized, and integrated, on a field in science or technology, in order to account for the advances and trends of development. It is characterized by presenting a careful bibliographic review of at least 80 references.
3. Short article: Short document that presents preliminary or partial original results of a scientific or technological research that, due to its importance, require an early dissemination.
In the same way, Revista Avances Investigación en Ingeniería may use intellectual property rights by the author or authors in the personal and voluntary act of sending the articles to the magazine, as long as they have are selected by the Editorial Committee for publication; preserving the moral and patrimonial rights of the article.

Open Access Declaration (Green Open Access)

The journal Avances Investigación en Ingeniería adopts an open access policy under the modality in which the author deposits his article, once accepted, to be published on the journal's website, without the need to pay editing or publication costs (Article Publishing Charge – APC); These costs are assumed by the Free University, who is the sponsor of the journal.
