About the Journal

1. FOCUS AND SCOPE

SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD (ISSN: 1794-7154, e-ISSN: 2382-3240), created in 2010, is an open-access journal, peer-reviewed scientific publication published biannually by the Universidad Libre de Colombia. It has a transdisciplinary character in the social and human sciences, focusing on law, innovation and competitiveness, social responsibility, social and human development, education, communication, sociology, culture, and society (Class 5E, UNESCO / OECD).

The Journal publishes original and unpublished research articles, seeking to offer a space for academic dialogue and the dissemination of knowledge that contributes to advancing knowledge and critical analysis of phenomena in a globalized context to solve contemporary social challenges.

2. MISSION AND VISION

SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD promotes interdisciplinary research, encouraging dialogue between disciplines and comparative analysis. It seeks to enrich academic debate and develop critical thinking in the scientific community.

SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD is projected as an international discussion forum for academics interested in the various social and human sciences disciplines, offering a platform for publishing innovative and high-quality research that contributes to advancing scientific knowledge in the global sphere.

3. THEMATIC ORIENTATION AND TARGET AUDIENCE

The articles in SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD cover the social and human sciences disciplines.

SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD is an academic journal aimed at professionals in the social and human sciences interested in deepening scientific knowledge from an interdisciplinary and Latin American perspective.

4. TYPES AND LANGUAGE OF ARTICLES

SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD publishes only articles resulting from scientific and technological research in two languages ​​(Spanish and English). These are defined by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Colombia (Minciencias) as the document that presents, in a detailed manner, the original results of completed research projects. The structure contains six essential parts: introduction, methodology, results, discussion, conclusions, and references.

5. PERIODICITY

SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD is published semiannually. Each issue, both printed and digital, is officially published on January 1 for the January-June period and July 1 for the July-December period. However, to ensure wider dissemination of the content, SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD uses the advanced publication modality on the OJS portal with articles that have already passed the evaluation and editing process. This way, readers can access the most recent academic works without waiting for the following printed or digital edition.

6. FUNDING

SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD is a journal of the Universidad Libre financed exclusively with institutional resources. This independence allows us to guarantee a rigorous and transparent editorial process without the need to charge fees for submitting, evaluating, or publishing articles. As a result, authors can publish their works free of charge, thus promoting the dissemination of legal knowledge.

7. OPEN ACCESS, COPYRIGHT AND PUBLICATION LICENSE

SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD Journal promotes the unrestricted dissemination of legal knowledge. As a signatory of the Budapest Declaration, it guarantees free and open access to all content. Authors retain the moral rights over their works but assign the publication rights to the Universidad Libre under a Creative Commons Attribution/Recognition-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International license.

8. CROSSREF / CROSSMARK POLICY

SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD is a Journal that meets the highest international publication standards. Each published article has a DOI (Digital Object Identifier)​​, and its metadata is shared with Crossref to facilitate its location and citation. In addition, Crossmark is used to maintain an up-to-date record of the status of each article, ensuring the integrity of the scholarly record and offering readers confidence that they are consulting the most recent and reliable version of each work.

Crossmark is a tool that provides transparent information about the life cycle of a scientific article. By clicking the icon, readers can access details such as the date of the first online publication, any subsequent updates or corrections, and links to previous versions.

9. ARCHIVING CONTENTS

To ensure the long-term preservation of content, SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD uses the LOCKSS system, a digital preservation initiative that creates multiple backup copies distributed in different locations. In addition, SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD respects authors' rights and allows self-archiving of their articles in institutional or personal repositories. This encourages the dissemination of knowledge and increases the visibility of research while ensuring long-term access to information.

10. RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONTENT

SABER, CIENCIA Y LIBERTAD encourages an enriching and diverse academic debate; however, the responsibility for the content of the published articles corresponds exclusively to the authors. The positions and assertions presented result from an educational and investigative exercise that do not necessarily represent the official position of the Universidad Libre or the other participating institutions.
