The aim of the article is quantitatively estimate the determinants of job satisfaction in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga, between 2008 and 2012. The methodology data Household Integrated Survey of DANE used a discrete choice model estimated on the likelihood that employees are satisfied or not in their workplace, with reference to a utility function where individual factors, socioeconomic and company are involved. The results show that labor income, social security tenure, the larger companies, development of knowledge, the balance between work and family commitments are the most important factors affecting positively satisfied the workforce, while the longer hours and greater human capital tenure negatively affect this probability.
