ETHICAL PRINCIPLES

CODE OF ETHICS – INGENIARE JOURNAL

INGENIARE is a scientific journal for all areas of engineering, which is published biannually. All works undergo a double-blind review process, without exception. The journal adheres to the "Responsible research publication: international standards for editors" directive, adopted by the COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors, therefore, all authors who wish to publish in the INGENIARE Journal must express in writing the original and unpublished nature of the submitted manuscript. Likewise, they must explicitly state that they agree with the ethics policies of the journal, considering and avoiding the following cases:

  1. Redundant posts
  2. Plagiarism
  3. Altered or false data
  4. Conflict of interest

REDUNDANT PUBLICATIONS

The authors must explicitly state in the cover letter of each work submitted for evaluation, that it has not been fully or partially published in another scientific journal. In the event that it is an extension of an already published paper, it must be declared in the submitted work.

For works submitted to the INGENIARE journal, one of the peer reviewers (in the manuscript status) or a reader of the journal (in the published paper status) may detect redundancy. In any case, before stating redundancy, the Editorial Committee will proceed to carry out the appropriate investigation. In case of finding that, in fact, there is redundancy, the authors will be contacted, who must present in writing a justification of the scope of the redundancy, the admission of guilt or the rejection of the redundancy found. The Editorial Committee will analyse the disclaimer submitted by the author(s).

  1. If it is a paper under review: If the explanation presented is satisfactory, the manuscript will be rejected and the author(s) will be notified.
  2. If it is a published paper: If the explanation presented is satisfactory, the author(s) will be notified and they will be requested to send a letter for them to retract the publication in the journal.

In any case, if the author(s) fail(s) to respond to the requirements of the Editor or the Editorial Committee, the entity to which the author(s) is/are affiliated will be contacted regarding the case and contact information of each one of the authors will be requested.
