This work proposes the design of a human powered vehicle to provide a sustainable alternative means of transportation in Monteria city, in order to reduce pollution and noise while enhance user’s health. The effort was carried out according to the design method to manufacture and assembly (DFMA), in order to reduce manufacturing processes, assembly and cost. In addition, the stress analysis of the chassis was conducted by means of finite elements taking into account the particular roads and rollover conditions defined by ASME (2014). The fabrication cost was reduced on 32 % in comparison to a previous design developed without DFMA.
