ANTIPLAGIUM
PLAGIARISM
All manuscripts submitted for consideration for publication in the INGENIARE Journal must appropriately reference all the literature sources used, including those referring to graphs, tables, illustrations or any other section, clearly indicating the source in the case of third parties, in accordance with the guidelines of the current "IEEE Citation Reference" document (See the guidelines for authors). When submitting the paper to the Journal, the authors must guarantee in writing that the text duly underwent revision to avoid plagiarism.
All works received by the Editorial Committee undergo a review of coincidences with respect to other works. If no plagiarism is detected, peer reviewers are assigned to the work according to the subject, to continue with the review process. If plagiarism is detected in a manuscript, the following procedure will be followed:
- Obvious plagiarism [e.g. submission of a long portion of text or data without explicit attribution to the original source(s), presenting it as their own]: The editor will contact the author, notifying them of the rejection of the paper together with the evidence of plagiarism. The Editorial Committee will evaluate the possibility of notifying the case to the entity to which the author(s) is/are affiliated, as well as to the author(s) of the text subject to plagiarism.
- Minor plagiarism [e.g. small fragments of text or sentences with misquoted reference(s)]. The Editor will contact the author(s), requesting the respective corrections. Once the corrections are received, if satisfactory, the editorial process will continue. Otherwise, the paper will be definitively rejected and the author(s) of the manuscript will be notified of the decision.
In the event that plagiarism is detected after paper publication, the Editorial Committee will work the actions to be taken in accordance with the provisions of the COPE, including, but not limited to:
- Publication of a retraction by the authors
- Report the authors of the original text about the plagiarism occurrence and the actions to be taken.
- Report the institution to which the author(s) is/are affiliated about the plagiarism occurrence.
FALSE DATA
Every paper submitted for consideration for publication in the INGENIARE Journal must be based on real data and truthful information, obtained by the author(s) themselves and indicating when it is based on data supplied by secondary or tertiary sources, in which case, the source must be explicitly mentioned. Likewise, data must be objectively and scientifically treated, without subjecting them to any type of procedure that alters or biases them to show results that favors the research when, actually, data show results that partially or totally deviate from the purpose of the research presented. In the event that the peer reviewers of a manuscript or the readers of the already published paper suspect that a work was based on false or tampered data, they must notify the editor of the INGENIARE journal, in which case they will proceed to investigate under the criteria stated by the COPE.
