Business history of higher education institutions in Sincelejo years 1976 - 1996

This article describes the creation, evolution and sustainability of higher education institutions established in the city of Sincelejo between 1976 and 1996, and its relationship with business development in the department of Sucre. A methodology based on qualitative research was used, through documentary review, interviews and focus groups as data collection techniques. It was established that among the factors that contributed to the creation, development and positioning of higher education institutions in Sincelejo are aspects related to the family structure, history of family businesses, transmission of philosophies related to education, savings, creation and the implementation of projects and reading of educational needs of the context.
