Prevention of the accidentality and labor alternative for the promotion of self-care

Abstract

Occupational accidents are one of the main causes directly related to absenteeism, and when they do not keep records this can negatively impact the Safety and Health Management System in the work of any organization, affecting their productivity and competitiveness. Objectives: Analyze bibliographic production related to accidents and absenteeism, the importance of prevention in companies to achieve healthy work environments. Methodology: Through bibliographic review, with scientific bases and related studies in the area, the importance of the prevention of accidents and work absenteeism will be analyzed for the promotion of self-care for the strengthening of safety and health management systems at work. in organizations and with it, improve the quality of life of their workers. Results: The bibliographic search evidenced that the activities of identification, evaluation and control of risks are not being carried out systematically and as a priority, as part of the epidemiological surveillance programs within the occupational safety and health management system, as the tasks of investigation of accidents and occupational diseases, leading to work incapacity and absenteeism, negatively impacting the safety and health management system at work of companies in Colombia.
