Prácticas de Diversidad e Inclusión en la Industria de Alimentos en Colombia: Una exploración de factores habilitadores y desafíos

Introducción: los cambios sociales y la discriminación sistemática hacia poblaciones vulnerables, han llevado al surgimiento de estrategias de diversidad e inclusión en las empresas, en su mayoría en Estados Unidos; sin embargo, poco se sabe sobre su aplicación en industrias específicas en países del sur global.
Objetivo: identificar los factores habilitadores y desafíos para el establecimiento de estrategias de Diversidad e Inclusión en la industria de alimentos en Colombia.
Método: el estudio es de tipo cualitativo. Se llevo una recolección de datos preliminar con actores del ecosistema de D&I en Colombia, y se hizo una encuesta para establecer el primer contacto con las empresas. Finalmente realizaron 17 entrevistas a líderes de las estrategias de D&I.
Resultado: Se identifican cinco factores habilitadores a fin de establecer bases para los programas: formalizar mediante políticas; generar cambios culturales; construir redes de apoyo; diseñar un sistema de monitoreo, y buscar alianzas para fortalecer los programas. Asimismo, se identifican tres tipos de desafíos: estructurales, culturales, y desarrollo de capacidades técnicas.
Conclusión: Las estrategias de Diversidad e Inclusión requieren transformaciones culturales y organizacionales en diferentes niveles, desde el liderazgo, hasta el relacionamiento cotidiano entre colaboradores. Por lo tanto, deben soportarse en recursos externos para sostenerse en el tiempo.
