Through the interpretation of Jorge Luis Borges’ poem, Para una visión del I Ching, it is possible to smooth the way towards East wisdom comprehension. We consider that the poem’s symbols and metaphors are not just an aesthetic substitute of reality in the order of simulacrum, but through them we can disclose the paradoxical coincidence of the contraries –complexio oppositorum- as well as the ambiguous conceptions of time that determine the sacred character of China’s wisdom. In this way, the poet is revealed as a demiurge of grammatical shapes; and his work constitutes hierophany’s testimony.
