Quand l'enseignement des langues étrangères s'intéresse a la bioethique

Foreign language teaching/learning has a new social goal and a new social situation of reference: to train social agents within a multilingual and multicultural society. In this paper, the authors base on professional reflections and preliminary outcomes of a study to propose an answer to this new requirement using bioethics. The article starts studying the relationships between bioethics, foreign languages and the teaching/learning process. Then it attempts to draw some pedagogical implications. And finally a piece of research in a French language context is briefly presented. The scope and complexity of this topic call for further research dealing with the potential effects of this kind of proposal for language pedagogy.
