Doctoral training in the practice and philosophy of nursing science: two ways to transcend the utopia of a learned practice: essay.

Advanced nursing education has revolutionized science and trends according to the rhythm of the world indicates that the epicenter of research training is in the practice of care.
Objective: to reflect on doctoral training in nursing from doctorates for practice and doctorates in philosophy and their potential in the Colombian context.
Methodology: a reflective essay is developed that seeks to show positions between doctoral training in nursing and its relevance in the Colombian context.
Conclusions: These two types of doctorates are required, since they will be the way to go from Nursing Science, which invites doctorates to promote a work with mutual support and together that allows working in a network and advance in the creation and translation of knowledge in practice and research in the Colombian context.
