Swnmer research, experience report of a Nursing student

Abstract

The nursing student needs an approach to research that allows him to broaden his vision of the world of care, this experience can be seen reinforced by the contact with researchers and in Mexico this opportunity is provided through the experience in Summers Research. The objective of the present article is to relate the experience lived in a Summer of Research with a researcher in nursing. Methodology: It is an experience report of a nursing student in a summer research conducted in the months of June-July 2016 at an institution of higher education. Results: The student went to planned activities with a researcher in the area of research to the elderly, was carried out literature search, data collection, analysis of data collected and preparation offi nal report. The activities corresponded to a research project in a gerontological center, besides participating with the elderly, the student managed to acquire skills and knowledge in nursing research. The nursing student must acquire in his training the necessary competence for the research, in a way that allows him to develop observing the phenomena and to describe them, supported by researchers that facilitate the learning process. Conclusion: The research summers bring nursing students closer to research by experimenting i t with an expert researcher who guides the student and also exerts motivation for this process; linking care with the scientific process.
