In this article the IPV4 and IPV6 addressing performance was compared using RIP, BGP and OSPF routing protocols in two scenarios, the first theoretical using the metric proposed in this article and the second using the JMeter tool to verify its performance. In both cases, the behavior of a server commonly used on the Internet was compared, the results show that the IPV4 performance is more optimal using IPV4 and BGP in real internet environments while the IPV6 shows better performance in theoretical devices and using the protocol OSPF and RIP.
