Paternalism in a State subject to the rule of law rises many problems. One of this is related to the active role that the State assumes in the life of people by promoting or forbidding some kinds of behaviors that don’t harm anyone. The central issue is that the State intervention must be motivated enough so that the autonomy of individuals principle is not endangered.
