Abstract

In Colombia the Institutions of Higher Education make various efforts to achieve the management and communication of knowledge. One of them are scientific journals, same that constitute one of the possible outcomes that a research project can have. However, the decanting of those who are translating their research results in written, scientists and researchers, has barriers beyond the unique challenges of research problems that arise. Some of these limitations are: the permanent uncertainty to finance their projects, both in public and in private; the difficulty to have reliable and publishable results, especially in the social sciences research; the bureaucracy of some institutions, where sometimes fill out forms takes longer it can last the project; at public universities, wages based publications, which have brought the assumption of increased productivity, but have led to neglect of duties inherent in the scientific activities that are not taken into account for evaluating the performance of teachers; in private, lack of enough time to devote to intellectual production time institutions, although it should be clarified that research never the time or money are sufficient.
