Abstract

The case of a woman aged 58 is presented from urban area of a municipality of less than 20 thousand inhabitants, Tubará, Atlantico who suffered Bothrops bite snake-six days after he is hospitalized. The patient has no known me- dical history of importance. During evolution Acute Renal documented. In this report, aspects of diagnosis, clinical management and possible pathophysiological mechanisms underlying renal insufficiency are described. Renal invol- vement by Bothrops snake venom is a rare entity, which may be lethal. This case report, evidence severe symptoms of acute renal failure (ARF) of insidious onset, so it is essential to monitor and m nitor victims of such accidents, even if the patient had predisposing factors such as atopy or allergy cross reactions.
