Abstract

The IMRaD model (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion), adopted as the standard for article presentation in the journal Biociencias, is widely accepted within biomedical publishing. However, in editorial practice, it is common to receive scientific manuscripts that use the term methodology as a synonym for materials and methods, reflecting a conceptual misunderstanding. Although this issue does not necessarily compromise the validity of the studies, it does raise important concerns regarding the clarity, coherence, and overall quality of scientific writing.
