Resumen

Los aneurismas de aorta abdominal son una alteración frecuente, generalmente asintomática de origen multifactorial. El riesgo de ruptura y muerte esta directamente relacionado con el tamaño del aneurisma; en los casos de los pacientes con requerimiento de reparación quirúrgica, esta igualmente relacionado con el tipo de procedimiento realizado, observándose menor morbimortalidad en los pacientes tratados con reparación endovascular. Se presenta un estudio descriptivo y retrospectivo, con el objetivo de caracterizar los pacientes y los resultados quirúrgicos y de morbimortalidad de la reparación endovascular de aneurismas de aorta abdominal, en la Clínica General del Norte, durante el periodo 2015 – 2016. Se concluye que el tratamiento endovascular de AAA es un procedimiento eficaz y seguro en el ámbito local; nuestra experiencia se asemeja a la descrita en la literatura; demostrándose que los resultados en cuanto a morbimortalidad y estancia hospitalaria son considerablemente superiores a los de la cirugía abierta.
